Dr John Read
Dr John W Read graduated MB, BS from UNSW in 1980. He completed his clinical internship and residency at St Vincents Hospital in Sydney before commencing post-graduate training in diagnostic radiology at Westmead Hospital in 1982. After gaining the FRANZCR and DDU in 1986, John entered private practice. Over the past 20 years he has been at the leading edge of musculoskeletal ultrasound development and education in Australia. John has previously served as both member and chairman of the RANZCR ultrasound committee. He helped coordinate the ultrasound component of imaging services at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, and is co-author of "Atlas of Imaging in Sports Medicine", an international textbook that has become a popular reference used in daily clinical practice by many radiologists, sports physicians and physiotherapists. John remains active in both clinical practice and post-graduate education. He currently holds an appointment as Conjoint Lecturer in the School of Medical Sciences at UNSW.
