Ben Gooden performs hip and knee replacement surgery, arthroscopic knee surgery and orthopaedic trauma surgery.
Dr Gooden graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2001 with honours. He completed his advanced training in Orthopaedic surgery through the Australian Orthopaedic Association becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2010.
On completing his Orthopaedic training, Doctor Gooden completed post-fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty at the Klinikum Emil von Behring Hospital, Berlin, Germany. On returning to Sydney he undertook a further fellowship in Orthopaedic trauma as well as hip and knee arthroplasty at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.
In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr Gooden has completed a Science degree with first class honours at the University of Adelaide and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) through the University of Sydney. His PhD thesis dealt with the mechanisms of tendon and cartilage degeneration.
